Peacock Feather Frame

I've been redecorating my room for what feels like months now. I spent ages finding furniture and collecting bits and bobs to build a look that I felt happy with! After all of that, I am finally pulling it together and doing the exciting finishing touches! I've always loved the look of a 'gallery wall' that displays a collection of art and whilst deciding what to hang, I decided to make a piece or two to add to the collection.

Here are a couple of photos of the collection so far. It may be small at the moment, but the beauty of this kind of arrangement is that you can keep adding to it and watch it grow!

The peacock frame that is at the top left was so incredibly easy to make and in my opinion looks really beautiful! Here's what I did (it's so easy there are only three steps!):

You will need...

- x2 cheap wooden frames from any craft store. (Frames must be the same size)
- black acrylic paint.
- x1 peacock feather.

1. Paint one of the frames using black acrylic paint and let it dry. Remember to remove the glass before painting.

2. Once the frame is dry, reinsert the glass and position the feather on the glass.

3. Use the glass from the other frame to sandwich the feather and clip it in place using the metal prongs provided on the frame. Et voila!

Note: Don't throw away the second frame, hold on to it and use it for another project like the one below for example!

It's such a simple and cheap project to do and looks so effective. You could even do a collection of frames just like this, with pressed flowers, or different kinds of feathers!

Have a go!
